A PennDOT project to improve Franklin Road will lead to upgraded utility lines in the area.
The project is in the design phase with a focus on Franklin Road between Route 228 and Peters Road. The multi-year widening and realignment work is expected to begin in the coming months with a 2026 target completion date.
During the planning process, Township staff coordinated with PennDOT as both sewer and water infrastructure will be impacted. As part of the project, roughly 9,000 feet of 20-year-old pipe will be replaced, with a majority of the $3.1 million being paid for by PennDOT.
On September 7, the Board of Supervisors approved a Waterline Reimbursement Agreement and a Sanitary Sewer Reimbursement Agreement with PennDOT.
