The staff at Sweet Water Décor’s Freedom Road warehouse are burning the candle at both ends to keep up with demand.
The seven-year-old company, founded in the basement of owner Melissa and Chris Horvath’s home, has seen demand increase thanks to a strong brand and unsolicited shout-outs from the likes of Mindy Kaling and Kylie Jenner.
That growth includes a nearly 2,000% increase in production and sales since the company added candles to their product line in 2017.
That growth necessitated a new home – and Cranberry shined the brightest.
“It was the perfect place,” said Melissa, a Butler native who has seen Cranberry’s growth. “You have everything you could need, but still have that hometown feel.”
Melissa said the Sweet Water Décor brand is strong and one based in positivity and motivation. And while the company boasts more than 40 employees and ships out nearly 1,000 orders each day, it’s still a small business at heart.
“People love versatile products that are made in the USA,” she said.
Those products include the popular candles, reed diffusers, and more. These gluten, lead, and phthalate-free creations are hand-poured and packed in Cranberry. And, in addition to the company’s online shop, they distribute to more than 7,000 boutiques around the world, as well as Amazon, Etsy and more.
They offer more than 35 scents in five jar styles, with a product team constantly looking for new custom creations.
Sweet Water Décor is offering a special discount for their Cranberry Township neighbors.
